B&W to Color

Image
For this project I took a "mug" shot of myself and then turned it to black and white in Photoshop. Then I went and tediously painted using the five color palette types. This took quite some time as I had to generate each palette then individually paint over each image, utilizing separate layers and colors. Ultimately I'm happy with the results as I got some pretty cool and funky portraits.  Original (converted to B&W) Monochromatic Triad Analogous Complementary Compound

Somewhere

Image
As we approach Christmas time I thought to place myself in this nativity scene as a proud "Uncle Saul". It was difficult finding an image that I could fit myself into proportionately, but it was fun thinking of the idea, dressing up, and placing myself "somewhere I've never been".

Autoscopy

Here's my Autoscopy project in which I took several pictures and compounded them together to illustrate my anxiety. Often times being indoors makes me feel trapped, so I used repeated patterns within the floors, walls, blinds, etc. to portray that. Then I dragged a duplicate image of my face overlay to give an effect of tiredness that results from insomnia. This project was a creative way to explore and express some internalized feelings.
